General and Advanced Laparoscopic Surgery

Dr. Keith Kreitz is a 1999 graduate at MC Hahnemann University School of Medicine in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.  He continued his residency at Lehigh Valley Hospital/Pennsylvania State University program in Allentown, PA where he became chief resident in 2003.  Dr. Kreitz is a member of the Wilderness Medical Society, Society of Laparoendoscopic Surgeons and The American College of Surgeons.  He is a board certified general surgeon.  At Lehigh Valley Hospital he trained extensively in the Roux-En-Y gastric bypass procedure and conducted clinical research in the field of obesity reduction surgery. 

Dr. Kreitz performs the laparoscopic adjustable gastric banding procedure as well.  In the field of obesity surgery to date, his work has yielded several National Surgery Journal articles, two of which Dr. Kreitz authored himself.  In the field of medical education, Dr. Kreitz holds the design patent on an auscultatory device that he developed during his medical education.  He also teaches minimally invasive surgery techniques for the University of Pennsylvania. 

Dr. Kreitz spent the years of 2004 to 2006 in Lake Charles, Louisiana and was on staff at two bariatric surgery centers, namely at Women and Children’s Hospital and Christas St. Patrick’s Hospital.  Dr. Kreitz also has additional training in surgery for gastroesophageal reflux disease and minimally invasive surgery in general.
